How Does a Robotic Lawn Mower Work?
Robotic mowers are battery-operated, self-guided machines. Robotic mowers are quiet and can mow any time of day or night in rain or shine. The mowers operate inside of a perimeter boundary wire and use sensors and/or GPS tracking to avoid obstacles. Your lawn is maintained on a continuous basis, so it's always kept at an even height.
Periodically, the robot will return itself to the docking station for recharging. This is where the unit stays while not in use.
How often does the mower cut?
Mowing times and frequency are determined by the size of the property. In general, the mower will mow every day of the week during high-growth periods and fewer, shorter times during slow-growth periods. Mowers can be programmed to run at specified times during the day or at night.
What happens to the grass clippings?
Since the robotic mower runs more often, the clippings are typically no longer than 1/8th of an inch. The clippings fall directly into the soil and help enrich the lawn.
.
Is the robotic mower safe around pets and children?
Of course! It has self-contained proximity and bump sensors. It will stop and redirect when nearing an object. It won’t run over toys, humans, or animals. If someone tries to lift the mower, there are sensors that immediately disarm the mower and its blades.
